Live Long, Live Well And Live Free

Every time you turn on the news, there seems to be grim statistics facing you.  The unemployment rate is up to 8.5% in just the first few months of 2009.

The Center for Disease Control seems to be working overtime just to keep up with new strains of bacteria that pervade our society.  And pharmaceutical companies are hard at work creating new drugs to treat what ails us.

With all the manpower and all the money that goes into creating drugs to treat our symptoms, doesn’t it seem that we would be further along in actually finding cures for what is making us sick in the first place?

With the numbers relating to disease and obesity steadily climbing, wouldn’t it seem logical that this large industry would set out to educate societies on health and wellness vs. sickness and pharmaceuticals?  Of course!

Except that logic doesn’t come into play when dealing with large sums of money that would disappear should whole generations no longer need what is being exuberantly prescribed.

Lucky for you, this is not the news.  That means you will get a silver lining instead of just doom and gloom.

While the top industries controlling our economy are actually negatively impacting our world as each day goes by, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  There is a way out of a world of disease, war, poverty and environmental distress.

There is already a small paradigm shift taking place in which individuals are seeking out health and wellness in an effort to gain control of their own well-being.

Journals of all kinds overflow with statistics; on health, the economy, the jobless rate and so on.  According to statistics, the three main issues facing individuals today are sickness, poverty and slavery.  Yes that’s right, slavery.  When you feel powerless to change your life and do not experience true freedom, you are a slave.

As Wayne Dyer said:  “Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose.  Anything less is a form of slavery.”  When was the last time you woke up in the morning and asked yourself “what do I want to do today?”

How would you like to ask yourself that question every day, not just on weekends?  We live in a time when thousands upon thousands need a change in a big way.  Individuals need to break out of sickness and climb out of poverty.

Even those with the 4 bedroom house and two nice cars need a change!  What you need to know is that change starts with you, but doesn’t depend solely on your efforts.  There’s good news on the horizon.

As stated above, the health and wellness industry is booming to the tune of billions of dollars.  Also growing by leaps and bounds is the world of ecommerce – doing business on the web.

Even if you know nothing about these industries, you can benefit from them.  Let’s add up some figures and see what we get…

In 2008, internet sales grew to $133 billion.  Even while most families are tightening the strings on purchases, these are strong numbers.

Now, let’s look at the health and wellness industry as well.  In 2007, nutritional sales climbed almost 11% to just under $94 billion.

This occurred during a time when the economy was beginning its downswing, which shows the likelihood that increased media attention on obesity and other diet-related health problems seems to have prompted consumers to take more aggressive steps to avert health problems before they occur.

With such statistics, it’s no wonder why Paul Zane Pilzer – former economic advisor to two U.S. Presidents and the Editor in Chief of Success Magazine – believes that the health and wellness industry is set up to be the next major business force in the world.

In fact, he has predicted this industry to reach one Trillion dollars by 2010.  That’s just next year, folks!

Nutrition, health and wellness are not a luxury to be enjoyed only by the rich; nor is the freedom to do as you wish with your time.  No, all of these things are linked to your well being – something you have an inherent right to enjoy.

Don’t sit back and let someone else make life choices for you.  You have the power to elicit change in your life as well as the lives of others.  Take the reigns and follow the path of your own choosing!  I have done it, and can help you do it too.

It has been said that the wealthiest place on earth is the graveyard; for it is there where unfulfilled dreams lie.  Make a change in your life today.  Be a service to others along the way.

Live long, live well, and live free.
